Finally after Months of being Hidden from view by scaffolding the Iconic landmark Dimmeys Swan St clock is visable for all to see.
The faces have all been skillfully repainted to the exact font they always were, one face required replacement due to past impact damage.
Manouvering a 2.2 meter 150 kg section of glass into position by hand is not as easy as it sounds, although it was accomplished with a minimum of swearing.
Origionally driven by an English Hipp movement the clock had been modified in the past to be purely electrically driven and is now setup to be driven by one of our stepper motor and master clock systems, all origional parts have been retained in the Tower and no irreversable changes made.
Once power is available it will be commissioned and hopefully serve the people of Richmond for another century.
